Now I'm new to this but I found this rather strange I bought my chickens just over a week ago they are nearly 20 Weeks old not started laying yet but I'm sure from the advice on this forum from my previous post the white one ( Maggie ) is nearly ready.
Anyway started to clean out there coop and run while the girls were busy in my garden when they all come running round my legs making the same noises they make when they are waiting to come out and one of us is going up to there coop the other 2 then walked off just seeming to watch me but Maggie kept rubbing herself up my leg flapping her wings squatting at my feet and kind of reversing back in to me with her bum poking out st me.
I picked her up and stroked her and she seemed content but putting her back down she started again.
She stopped once I finished and walked off??????????
What an earth?

The behavior is termed 'squatting' - she is becoming sexually mature and regards you as her 'rooster'. She will lay soon.

yes I understand that bit with squatting but does that go for all they flapping around me?
And why when I cleaned the coop as she does squat for me when I go to pick her up
