I had to listen to a customer scream and rant at me today because I would not allow them to use the phone. It is a new company wide policy...

Just to clarify, it was not a microphone...but a phone since the phones are connected to the "Page" function.

THIS is the reason things get taken away...when one person does something, it affects EVERYONE.

Sorry...just frustrated.

that whole story is ridiculous..i cant believe how they have blown it out of proportion.

Yep...but to think that something some moron does in a completely different state has repercussions. You realize everything has a reaction. The woman didn't believe me when I told her why...hopefully she's using google. There are several other things on it on google.

I didn't believe it at first when the managers told me...but I see why it was necessary to make a new rule about it. We try and help where we can, but sometimes...you just gotta get a cell phone or pay the $.35 to make a call in the lobby.

Even if there's a family emergency now...there's nothing we can do. I hate that we can't help with the phones now, but how ridiculous is it that a person took his liberties with a system that was set up to help those inside the store...I just can't understand why anyone would do that?

he was being a stupid teenager...i misused the public pa system at walmart too at that age, thought it was hilarious!

i think they are reading too much into the whole thing anyways, it was just a stupid prank.

1. He needs to learn tolerance.
2. What he did was vandalism...only he didn't use spray paint.

He deserves to be punished and I hope they make him an example for everyone that's thinking of doing something like this. I'm sure the people in the store got a real good laugh, but well...nvm.

So Sorry, Ropo

I used to work in retail management years ago. It's not an easy job. I was robbed three times during those years. One by gunpoint, once by butcher knife, and once with both. Some days were just awful, but there were good days too. Sometimes, when explaining why you can't do something, no matter how many times, and different ways you say it, it just doesn't get thru. There's not much else you can do, but smile and nod.

I did absolutely lose my temper one time when called a bad 4 letter word ( starts with C ). I lost it completely. After that, and the robberies before that. I said enough is enough. I walked away and didn't look back!

LOL...nobody has tried to rob me yet...but it's probably because I have "THE" look which scares them away!

Plus, be 5'11" helps deter alot of people...plus, the security around the store is AMAZING....and police are almost on speed-dial! lol

Yeah, I would imagine walmart would have better security. I'm about a foot smaller than you, but I grew up in the military. My uncles made sure I knew how to defend myself. The fellow that had the butcher knife didn't know what hit him, but when the someone has a gun that's a WHOLE nother ball of wax.

When I went to the court hearing for the butcher knife robber, the judge was looking at the guys photos. He said, " who beat the crap out of this guy? The police?" The police officer said, " No, your Honor. It was the victim." You should have seen the judges face when he looked at little ole me.

He just shook his head with a smirk, and I swore I heard him whisper, serves him right.
