Is this normal?
They have barely even had feathers for a month, and now they are lossing them! It looks like someone tore their feather pillow and ran all over our back yard with it. I thought geese molted in the spring right after breeding season. Could this be a diet problem? Should I even be worried?

Yes. They have their baby down. Then they get a set of juvenile plumage, and then they blow that out and get their adult plumage,

With the adult plumage, they will change that twice a year.

all of our 2012 hatchlings have been molting and growing in their adult feathers from their juvenile feathers. Can see it the most on the buff dewlaps and pastel colored sebastopols.
