Can they? Yes. Will they? Sometimes.

Why do you read different things on the internet about them eating kale? Because people have different experiences. Some flocks eat kale, some don't. Some flocks might eat kale if they don't have other green options but they might prefer cabbage or cauliflower leaves if those are available. Or they may prefer kale above either of those.
