Hello All,
My name is Marlene, my husband and I and our 2 kids live in Southern Indiana. We have 6 acres, 7 hens, 3 horses, 2 goats, 1 rabbit, 1 cat and 2 and 1/2 dogs.
We are fairly new to owning chickens. I am a city girl and never had chickens before and did not care to until I realized how much the cost of eggs were going up. We got "The Girls" last spring. We got very lucky that they all were hens. We started out with 9 but lost 2. One died within days of bringing it home and the other... A raccoon somehow got in the coop and killed one but that has been taken care of. We now have 2 Brahmas and 5 Wyandotes (1 black and white and 4 golden). I am especially fond of "Pecker" our black and white Wyandotte. She has the funniest personality, quite nosey and chatty. I really love "The Girls" and how they all run to greet me when I call them. I told my husband that they make me feel so loved. LOL
