I should add - I've never clipped wings. I do plan on adding hardware cloth to the century fencing, to limit the size of the openings in the fence, and extend it to the roof to enclose the triangular gaps. I'll do that before winter, so we don't have problems with predators. Their night time coop is secure, but with the lack of prey on the winter, I'll worry about them during the day even.
 
I was having the same problem. Here's what I came up with for a solution. I attached 1/2 inch electrical conduit to my existing fence with hose clamps. 1 at top of post and 1 at bottom. This extended the height of the posts to 10 feet. I then added netting to the upper part above the original fence. So far it has deterred them from flying over. Eventually I will be covering with poultry wire, but I have other projects taking priority right now.
