So I got 2 baby chicks, and my parents won't let me keep them right now. My boyfriend's mom is keeping them for a while, but she doesn't want to keep the heat lamp on all night. Is there other ways to keep them warm enough, and ensure they don't die from being too cold? I'm worried about them cause I can't keep my eye on them all night. :(

If those chicks don't have enough heat, they will get sick and die. Heating pad is a good option b/c it doesn't draw as much electricity and provides a much more natural brooding experience for the chicks. But... it has to be the right kind of heating pad, and set up the right way in order to be safe for the chicks.

Check out the link above for the mama heating pad. That is all I use.
