Keeping busy during the hatch... ideas?

103 today, the chocolate can't hold it's shape.

Gonna make some irish cream biscotti to go with the armeretto ones. Maybe an angelfood cake? (I have tons of egg whites to use up).

Have you made the quail cage yet???

Luckily my last hatch, I went to BYC swap. That kept me busy or most of the day and when I got home there was an incubator full of peepers!!!

Cage is done, brooder is set.

Jalipieno cheese bread:

1.75 c water
2 c white flour
1c Masa or corn meal
3/4th c Wheat flour
2 tbsp dry milk powder
1.5 tbsp salt
1.5 tbsp active dry yeast
1 small jar jalipieno slices drained (about 15-20 slices)
3 oz grated cheddar

if using a breadmaker - dump it in bread pan in order, except for jalipienos & cheese, and put on dough cycle.

If using a stand mixer, mix the flours together, then add that slowly to the water, in the bowl.

Once you have the dough rising, split into 2 balls, and slash an X on the tops, split jalipienos between the 2 loaves, and raise again for 20ish minutes, slide pan into oven for 20 mins at 350. Add a pyrex pan of water in oven (to make steam, and split grated cheese on the 2 loaves, bake 8 more minutes.

Pull out, cool and slice like sourdough.
