Keeping chicken poop?

My son lives 2 hrs from me and I have chickens and he keeps a garden, they want my chicken poop. I need to know how to save it for them? We normally add lime to keep the smell down but I don't know if that is ok to go into their compost. First I tried to save it in a plastic bucket with a lid but the smell was aweful!!! and I had to then put it in a trash bag ,still in the bucket, tied very tightly and drive it in my trunk for 2 hrs. Their has to be a better way! Any ideas? Please!

I put mine in kitty litter buckets for a friend who composts it....
......but he picks it up every couple weeks and only lives 3 minutes away.

But the poops are sifted from the roost board which has sand and PDZ on it which helps with the odor.
I also put some dry pine shavings on the bottom of the bucket and in between any additions and on top when it's full.
It still stinks tho.

The only way I can think is for you to dry it, but that would take some work, time and equipment.

I'd tell your son to find chicken closer to where he lives.
