Keeping chickens warm in cold weather

I have a couple of chickens that I have isolated in a different part of my coop shed and it's gonna be down to 25 tonight and I worry about one of these chickens because she is so small. She's a brown leg horn. She'll be 2 at the end of April. Right now I have her in a crate with Pine bedding and have a towel over most of the crate... mostly just on the top. Is there anything else I can do or am I doing everything?

25F I presume? That's getting down there but she's a hearty chicken and should be fine. She'd be better to cozy up to others but if you can't, as long as she's out of drafts she should be okay. I hate it when people tell other people their chickens will be fine though as sometimes they aren't fine.

If you really worry about her, I'd put that crate in your garage or basement.

Also you could offer warm water and feed soaked in hot water. Mine really love that!
