I just got 2 call ducks, and they currently have an outside cage I built for them, and at night or severe weather I bring them into the garage in a big dog kennel with sawdust for bedding. currently I am thinking about making a wooden box for them inside for the winter. I was wondering if anyone have any ideas or tips on what I want to do and have for the box to keep them warm in winter. help much apricated.

Hi,

We're in Wisconsin going into our first winter with two ducks. We bought a huge doghouse for them and hubby cut the 20' pen that runs alongside the chicken coop in half so they could have a pen to be locked up in at night. They free range by day.

This technically is all ducks need is shelter from the weather and a safe place to sleep, but like there, it does get subzero here too so we're putting a Cozy Coop radiant heater inside there for the winter.
