Keeping flies out of the coop?

Hi everyone! I’ve been reading a lot about people using DIY sprays (vinegar, essential oils, etc..) to help keep the flies away from their coops. Does anyone use those or have a favorite way to repel flies in the coop? Is it safe to spray while they’re out or do you need to wait while they’re up at night? I’m a new chicken keeper so any new info I can get would be appreciated! Thank you!

The vanilla scented trees that you use in vehicles actually work pretty well. I didn't believe it, but I have maybe one or two flies when I check. Also keeping poos picked up daily probably helps.
