I've been thinking lately that when my ducklings get older I may have to get rid of some if I have too many males. It breaks my heart because I'm so attatched to all of them
I've been thinking of what all I could possibly get.
I started thinking, what if all 4 are males. Could I still house them together and not have them fight if I don't have a female.
Or would I still have to get rid of either 3. I looked online they they are aggressive towards other birds and I totally understand that, but this was all centered around if you have multiple males and have females.
I did read that the dominant male may try to force himself onto the other males. This however was centered around if the females were busy brooding etc.
I'm really hoping, praying, and crossing my fingers
that I either have all females or 3 females and 1 male. I doubt I'll get that lucky on my first try though.
It makes me really upset that I may have to get rid of some. I've formed such a strong bond with mine. The person I bought mine from is willing to switch out if I have too many males, and I'm thankful for that. But then I'll have to start over with handling because he doesn't tame his. I'll also be left to wonder what happened to my babies
I hope it doesn't come down to getting rid of them.
