keeping pheasants in flight pen....?

Don't get to many males as they will fight over the hens.A 1 to 7 ratio is good and the male will breed all 7 hens with no problems. And the best part is he will not be beating on all the hens like he would to just 1 or 2 hens. They are very aggressive towards the hens in breeding season.
Are you looking for other ringneck breeds?I have black ringnecks.Very good looking birds when colored out. These are this years hatch 3/4 grown and coloring out nicely. There are too many in the pen so they are picked a little bit.

Birdman, Do you go to the swap in Batavia,N.Y.?They have it in Oct at the Genesis fairgrounds.I went to it for years, but it's mostly goldens and amherst. They use to have all kinds of pheasants for cheap money.Lots of birds there but not worth the 7 hour trip anymore. All kinds of birds ducks geese, swans, pheasants, cranes, pot belly pigs, rats and caged birds plus others.

Hey Tony,

I have only 1 male and 1 hen for now anyways. Yeah i'll try to keep the ratio stable, but iif i do get some pheasants eggs in the spring and get lots of males, wouldn't know what to do with them?
I can get anyway with having birds where i live but i'll think too many males wouldnt be a good idea. I do have property down in NC , with plenty of room so i can't wait to maybe build big better pens there and keep birds there. The house isn't quite done yet, i hope it gets done quicker as my parents told me no planting or birds there until the house is done being built. I'm excited and i have something great to look forward too.

No i'm not looking for ringneck breeds, but i have someone who will be sending me red golden eggs next spring, but maybe i'll be interested in some of your black ringnecks, if i'am interested i'll let you know.

No, havent heard of Genesis fairgrounds, i'm in the city of NY.

Thanks Tony!!
