keeping the chickens off the porch?

I want to take the doors and screens off my porch, but I don't want my chickens to go on the porch. I have been reading about a shock line, but I am wondering if there are other alternatives?

Maybe some kind of a small fence? Any kind of deterent should work.

Get a naked rubber chicken and lay it in a frying pan for them to see!

you could try the fence idea, something like one of those child fence things.

the problem is they fly over the window sills and walk through the doorway. has anyone used a electric fence to keep them OUT of somewhere???
