I've got two keets hatched today and they weren't due until 7/6!! Can't figure this out at all. There is 5 eggs still in the nest but the broody (Cornish Banty hen) left the nest and hasn't gone back for several hours so I moved the 5 eggs to another broody whose keets are due to hatch 7/4.

Anyone have keets hatch that early?

But....................... I have my first hatch ever!! I have always bought birds and never hatched any. I am so surprised with our horrid temps -- heat index was 115 yesterday and today it is about 105 real temperature. I just hope the other broody is able to hatch out some of the keets. She accepted the 5 eggs-- I think -- she didn't move them out of her nest yet.

That early does seem odd, but I'm envious. Mine seem to be hatching either on time or late and take forEVER to do it. It's really putting a strain on my neck and from sitting there bent over, watching, waiting, watching, waiting....

Our two batches under broody hens were due tomjorrow. I was shocked to find keets under one on Sunday! She hatched 8 and left 2 eggs. We put those eggs under the other hen and hers are hatching right now. Both were set the same night and I think the difference is that one hen got distracted off the nest frequently the first week.
This is our first venture into guineas. I traded for the eggs. Any tips for raising them with broody hens is welcome!!!
