This is my first foray into raising egg layers. I've started with 2 Wyandottes and two Australorps. The chicks have been in the house for a month and last weekend I moved them to a larger crate in the garage. This spring weather has been miserable so planning is tough.

I'm pretty excited about this venture. As a new retiree I am really enjoying watching these girls grow up.

I've already had to manage the pasty butt and some pecking issues. Hopefully I have those problems worked out.

I'll know I'll need more guidance along the way so I'm glad to have joined up!

G'Day from down under Babs.... :frowWelcome and Congratulations! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
