Hello everyone,
My pet duck "Meadow" is feeling very unwell, about two weeks ago I noticed she was trying to push an egg out, but nothing came, I took her to our vet who checked her and said they didn't feel any underneath to suggest she could be egg bound, they gave her some medicine because they believed she may have egg peritonitis, as of yet she still hasn't picked up, she is not eating much at all, maybe a few bits of grass if that but she is drinking, she has not pooped at all, just clear water followed by a clear mucus strand, she is on a course of marbocyl, having had 5 days worth so far and another 5 to go, but she has lost so much weight and I fear for her that she wont be able to last much longer like this.

If anyone has experienced this before or could suggest what could be the problem.

Many thanks Stuart.

PS I meant to mention that she has what looks like bumble foot on one foot, 3 small sores of which I am dealing with.

Marbocyl is a good drug, so I think your vet has you covered there. Since she is not eating and has lost so much weight you should consider tube feeing her, which your vet can teach you . Call your vet and ask about tube feeding. If they won't teach you, I can teach you.

Couple of pics, we brought her in tonight and bathed her feet in a bath with Epsom salt for around 10 mins, then, we put some lettuce in her water bucket and she seemed to try to nibble it for quite some time, but she is not interested in her layers pellets.

What could be causing her not to want to eat?, she is just over 1 year old now and up until now she has been fine, we got her and her sister "River" as day olds, when we were driving home with them River didn't stop quacking!!, Meadow was quite and always has been, would talk when she knew it was feed time!
could it be something more sinister seeing she hasn't been laying for over a week?
We have had two pet ducks before and both lived to a very good age, 13 and 15 years and have never experienced this before, just don't want her suffering.

Did the vet suggest doing x-rays or bloodwork?
Sorry for the late reply, no not at this stage, our girl is still with us and its been over two weeks now, we are keeping her indoors at the moment, I wonder wether she might have worms?, there is no indication in her poo of this though.

Can you talk to your vet about de-worming her?
