We have 6 ducks...3 male khakis, one male mixed breed (runner/khaki mix?), and 2 females (of the latter mix variety)

I have 4 khaki ducklings coming late April.

In the interim, the khaki males are beating the crap out of the mixed breed male. And they kinda gang up on the females.

All the ducks are just about 1 year old. They have always gotten along together well, so this is a new phenomenon. (Mating season?)

Should I completely separate the khaki drakes from the others in their pen at night?

I'm also considering getting 2 adult females immediately to help. (Perkins are available in our area now.)

I have the mixed breed male in a time out in a large dog crate in the garage...he was pretty beat up yesterday.

Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated.

it sounds like you have way too many drakes
i would definitely separate them, they could end up killing your hens too from overbreeding
