My male & female are about 3 months old. I got them at about 6 days old. We tried to hold, pet, cuddle them a lot but since moving outside they don't generally come near enough. They both come when I call them, will quack loudly for a sprinkle with the hose, will eat peas from my hand but when I reach to hold, off they run. Any ideas on how to help them not be so skittish?

Spend allot of time with them.
If you didn't routinely pick them up and pet them as chicks, it could take a while for them to become accustomed to that kind of handling

Most ducks don't want to be held, try to enjoy the fact that they come when you call them and will eat out of your hand. Some folks can't even get their ducks to do that.

My big scovie flock wouldn't eat of my hand lol Ducks are prey animals and don't like to be held like cats/dogs, heck some of those don't either.

Clearly, if they come for you, will eat of your hand, you've tamed them down! i have some ducks that do but is my hand raised ones, not the farm, they kinda run in their own world only trusting me for when it's time to go in the barn(by herding)
