3 of my kids are entering poultry in our county fair. I didn't know it, but the waterers and feeders are to be brought by us. Not a problem, but they don't want us using the kind we use (long feeder, stand alone waterer). I noticed some of the other kids had these things they fitted to soda bottles, but after checking both feed stores within 20 miles of us, they don't carry them. Any advice for what we could rig up here at home? I'd appreciate it, I've got till 8am tomorrow to get the birds in there.

Honestly, I've seen some kids use homemade dishes out of coffee cups that they zip tie to the side of the cage. You can find other dishes like the ones I linked at stores like petsmart. They aren't as heavy duty as the poultry ones, but they work. They also clip to the cages.

If you aren't concerned with looks you can cut pop bottles in half and wire them in. I've also used clean tuna cans as dishes for bantams.

You may also check the local feed stores for dishes. Basically anything that hangs on the side of the cage and can't be tipped over will work.
