So I’m incubating some eggs to gain experience later on when I start a breeding program for my prized AC’s. (Which I don’t have yet)

currently I got my hands on what’s most likely a mixed AC rooster since he’s got a slight mulberry face, waddles are mulberry, comb is black and most toes are white, mouth looks greyish.....yeah, hes not amazing, but he’s okay hobby breeding.

so what Im asking is, I had a few late quiters and I was wondering if anyone knew if AC embryos have black skin or if that’s developed later. Im curious because I actually have 3 roosters in that coop, two are EE’s and the other is AC. Just wanted to know if I happened to tell if he was the father of the quiters eggs or not.

Good question. I'm fairly certain they develop with black skin.
Yeah, unfortunately, I found out the hard way. I had a quitter at day 18 and it had beautiful black skin and feathers and answered my suspicion with the early quitter. Its such a shame it had to be ayam cemani quitters, I would have rather it been the EEs.

Thank you for your post, I greatly appreciate it.

No problem! Sorry one of your AC quit.
