Hey,
I just got chicks and I was wondering about chicks and kittens. I just lost my wonderful cat Moses 3 weeks before I got my chicks. My chicks are still very young and I wanted to know if a few weeks is too early to get a kitten

I guess it depends on what kind of interaction they will be having. But even if your cat will be outdoor and the birds are free ranging if you get a kitten now, the birds will soon be bigger than it so that will help. I haven't had to worry about that yet because my cats stay inside all the time, but in other animal experience if you introduce the larger/predator animal to the smaller/prey animal when they are around the same size or even when the prey is larger, it makes it easier.

You will have to work at it though. One time won't cut it.

Yes I agree, But I wouldnt let a playful kitten play with little chicks, kittens can do major damage with their claws and teeth! I love my burmese and he looks after the backyard for me. I would wait until the chickens grow first.
