Our kitten Archie saw the vet last Monday and he's been having to wear a cone to prevent him from licking his butt and pulling the sutures out. It's due to a prolapsed rectum but he's doing much better.
He sees the vet again on Tuesday to get checked again and to see if the sutures can be taken out.
Unfortunately, he's been having a bit of poop stuck on his butt after he uses the litterbox. I've been careful in wiping it off for him and avoiding the sutures.
But now I'm confused on why it's been happening every day.

Has anyone gone through this before??

Sorry I have not. Maybe call your vet and ask?

Definitely double-check with your vet since they know you cat's case, but it's possible he's just got to rebuild his anal tone now that his butt's been put back together properly. Plus, if he can't clean himself back there because of the cone, he's going to be a bit dirty anyway. (Don't take the cone off until you get the all-clear though, revision surgeries back there aren't fun for anyone!)
