My son's cat, Phoenix, unexpectedly delivered her kittens last night! We weren't planning on them being here until around Oct. 1 or 2! We were watching T.V., when I thought I heard a kitten cry----I thought it was one of our other cat's kittens which were born on Sept. 2. I went outside to have a cigarette, and a couple min. later, the kids are saying they think Phoenix is under the ottoman having her kittens-----she was, and had only delivered 1 so far. I gathered up mom and baby, and rushed them to our master bathroom where I had a box all set up. A couple hours later she had 5 beautiful babes-----3 orange and 2 tortishell! No matter how many times I witness an animal give birth, it will continue to amaze me.
