i think it's a great idea ebonykawai, seems some people are already using them, buzzard chick said the lid easily comes off and it could be modified to allow more light. i for one was thinking about mounting in the wall and it sticking out of the coop to make things even easier for me.
cleaning looks like it would be a breeze and also easily sanitized the more i think about it the more i want one or two. thanks ebonykawai another interesting project.

I just thought it was really cute, and I like how private it is. It's very roomy, too. And I bet it would be easy to cut a flap for ease of egg collection.

I have a Booda Dome as a litter box for my indoor cats. The lid easily removes and replaces. I can see why the hens would like it, too. Very dark and private. If you have the space for them in your coop (they are quite large) I would think they would be perfect! And they are easily cleaned between uses.
