And as for the breedings, could it be her grandsire? Linebreeding?

The imported one, I am surprised that the owner approach to you about that. That would be an outcross of that breeding. Not sure how that deceased dog and Katie are related.

At this time I am not considering one of her grandfathers. This does not mean I won't in the future, however, depending on how she produces with a less closely related relative. One dog I am considering has his sire and one of Katie's great grand sires in common. This dog was one of the top producers in the history of our breed. He has a full brother who is also a Hall of Fame member and top producer. Here is how the pedigree would look. You can see dog X appears once in each pedigree. This is the dog with the top producing brother.

Dog X is in Katie's pedigree once.

You can see also that B.itch A and Dog B are littermates. Dog B is Katie's paternal Gr. Sire. Dog A is the sire of her sire's dam.
