This girl has been sick going on 3 weeks now. I found her with her eyes crusty and runny. I knew immediately it was upper respiratory, I also have a turkey on his way to being this bad. I'm pretty sure it's mycoplasma but we don't really want to call them if we can save them. We did tylan 50 for a week until I ran out with vetrx, apple cider vinegar in the water and eye ointment in both eyes. Started LA 200 and it's been about a week now and this is only getting worse. Is there anything else I can do for this baby? My turkey is swollen as well but his is still soft. I have a video of what she is doing now. She isn't really eating or drinking anymore either. Please help if there is anything else 🙏

Pictures can be helpful. How much Tylan 50 were you giving? The dosage of that drug which is not available anymore, is 1/4 ml per pound of weight I given 3 times a day, and is given orally in chickens. Tylosin powder a generic form which is available online, can be given in the water 1 tsp per gallon of water for 3-5 days. Does you chicken with the swollen eye smell bad or normal? Coryza can be common in chickens, but MG is more common in turkeys and all poultry. Here is the Tylosin powder for sale:

Oh sorry about the lack of pics. I posted a video but it didn't show. When I first saw her sher eyes were very crusty with the stinky runny goop. She had almost completely healed up but then went down hill quickly. I give her 1/2cc of tylan and the LA 200, but I thought they could only get it 1 time a day. I did get some pics of her.

Tylan and oxytetracycline are for the same thing—MG. I would give one or the other. If it smells bad it could be coryza, and that is best treated with sulfa antibiotics, but you can use a combination of both Tylan and sulfa. The pus may need to be removed or presses out of the sinus and eyelids. It is possible to have more than one disease happening. The only way to know is to get testing or if you lose one, have the state vet do a necropsy and testing. Be sure to clean the eyes, flushing with saline, and apply either Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin to the eyes. Help them to find the food and water since they cannot see well.

We tried squeezing around the eye lid, but it so hard it won't move at all. I'm afraid to cancel it because of secondary infections. I had to quit the tylan because I ran out so moved to LA after a day of rest. I clean her eyes with soft, warm, wet cloths and terramycin in both eyes. Going to give her some nutridrench to help her get her color back and some vitamins in her.
