Do male amhersts only crow during the mating season? Also, do they crow early in the morning and late at night? How often per day? I don't want to upset the neighbours, and all the other birds

Pretty much just during the breeding season and honestly, it's nothing more than a screech. Nothing compared to a domestic rooster or even worse, a barking dog!! It actually sounds pretty cool and I wouldn't worry about it. He may do it several times a day, but again, I wouldn't call it a nuisance at all.
