I have a Polish that started limping a little over a month ago. She was getting along fine, we thought maybe she missed when trying to get onto her perch at night, got injured and would get better. Today she just kind of sits on the ground. I picked her up, she is very underweight. She never had the "hurdler's stance" that is characteristic of Marek's. I was wondering if sometimes birds with Marek's just go lame without ever having the one leg forward, one backward thing?

The weather has put stress on the birds, it's been over a hundred for the past month, I'm wondering if it's injury combined with sickness? She doesn't have gray eyes or any other symptom of Mareks except that she's underweight and can't seem to walk.

In the past I have had other birds get sick, lethargic and not be able to walk, but then they either get better or die within a day or two.

Thanks in advance for any insight you might have..

I have her separated and am giving her terramycin in case it's something other than Marek's. Any recommendations?
