What do we do...
This afternoon we noticed blue led in front of a tree panting, we picked her up as she was led in full sun and loved her to the shade, but we noticed that she couldn't walk or weight bare.
Her feet arent spread out like usual and they were both flat out behind her in a claw kind of position. We tried putting her in water, she can move her legs somewhat but not effectively. She can move her wings somewhat, but not effectively we give them a poultry feed from the food store and they free range and have lots of food available to forage. She will drink but won't even eat baby crumble when offered (they all go nuts for it given the chance!)
What could the problem be?
How do we deal with it? Do we put her to bed with the others? Or bring her in the house tonight? A vet is out of the question really, given where we live lame animals are culled.
Any advice? She is 1.5 years old, completely healthy before this.

I’m not really sure I’m afraid, but if she can still walk somewhat I guess she’d be ok with the others, as long as they aren’t hurting her. Just keep an eye on her and if the leg and her mood hasn’t improved in a few days it might be time to see if there is anything else wrong.

Sorry, just after reading your post again and I see you said she couldn’t actually walk 😅. I don’t know really, but I guess if you could it wouldn’t do any harm to bring her in for a bit

She wasn't egg bound, I checked that, vent looked fine too. She laid an egg this morning, can stand, walk, and laid an egg. She is still acting somewhat unusually, but she is somewhat unusual 😉 could it have been heat stroke?! They have plenty of access to plenty of water, free access to open water, plenty of shade...

However I don't know if it is completely coincidental, but this morning one of our young ducks tiny ran over and flapped strangely and then just died, for seemingly no reason... This duck was a weak duckling and we weren't sure it was going to make it as a tiny duckling, so obviously it has a special place in my heart 😔 we don't know if something is going on or 2 random but very close occurrences. Maybe it shouldn't have made it as a duckling and naturally it would have gone, so it's heart was maybe weak or something?
I was all for trying cpr (does that work on a duck? Is it the right thing to do?!), but papa duck said no.
We have kept big duck in isolation (she is quite happy without the others, she isn't a socialble duck) just in case.
Any ideas?!
Man, keeping birds is hard 😔

I am so sorry for your loss. So sad.

How is the neck on your female is it droopy or has she full control? Just thinking a toxin possibly?
Maybe heatstroke are your temps extreme right now? although sounds like they have quite a few ways to cool off.

The female is doing just fine now! The next day she rested in her little seclusion area and had no problems at all. In the first day her neck wasn't quite right and she didn't have full head control, or wing control, it any control really... It is mid summer in southern Spain, so yes it has got hot but they have so many places to stay in the shade and lots of water. But she does have wet feather and for some reason didn't moult this year when the others did to fix it?! And neither did dirty duck, but she is doing just fine, just quite dirty 😂 an odd one, but I think the 2 incide ta are unrelated.

She just may have gotten onto something that was toxic. Could have even been a bug. Although mine seem to know what not to eat when it comes to bugs.

That's awesome she is back to normal.
