Lancing infection swelling

While this is a continuation of the problem with the missing eye, I hope this separate post might get a quicker response. The area under the missing eye is quite swollen and the resulting "Knot" is almost 1/2 the size of the bird's head. I was wondering if I should try aspirating the area with a hypodermic needle to check for and possibly remove any fluid.

In my opinion I would cull. The infection is causing horrible pressure for the bird and it will eventually make it's way to the brain. From the sound of it probably by the end of the day. Can you bring it to a vet? And again this is just my opinion.
