I'm in Iowa, so feed must be cheaper than a lot of places throughout the country. $8.50 per 50# is pretty much the going rate around here. When it's on sale at Theison's or Orscheln's, I've seen Nutrena as low as $7.87 per 50# bag.
I feed chick starter that is unmedicated that I get from IAS. That is $11/50#.
I went to TSC recently and saw their Purena Layena was around $12/50#.
