Large eggs

I have had saphire gem chickens who lay really large eggs. Which i love but I have noticed their eggs always seem to struggle to hatch. They are viable to day 18 and moving. But when the others hatch most of mine passed. I have opened the eggs and it looks like a fully developed chick.Is this a thing with the breed?

No, just the chicks can't get leverage and bracing to hatch in the large eggs.

You can but I'd just not incubate her eggs.

Interesting, wouldn't the chick grow bigger in the egg to fill the space?
