Hi all.... We have welcomed into our family a Rhode Island Red hen and her nine babies. We don't really know much about chickens, had them a few years ago (that didn't go so well sadly). So we are trying again, in a new home and new beginnings. Any help that you can give would be awesome!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Congrats on your RIR hen and chicks! That is a great breed. You'll be getting a ton of eggs from them!

Our learning center is filled with tons of helpful info on raising chickens. I would defienitly look into it.

Good luck with your new flock and welcome to ours!

So glad you decided to join us.

So sorry about the past disappointments, but hopefully all will go better this time.

There's another recent new member who also got a mom and babies, such a fun way to start.

Good luck with all.

Feel free to ask questions. Please do post any and all concerns under the forums. There's a lot of helpful information in the Learning Center, but if you have specific concerns on what to do different this time, please do ask.

Welcome to BYC!

It would be fun to see a photo of mom & her chicks if you would like to share. Hope things go better for you this time around. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice to have you join us!

Thanks all. It is now fun this time around because our son is helping and learning. Pics to come soon...
