In the Brooder
Found this in the nest today and I'm wondering if it is a lash egg. It was like a shell-less egg with liquidy albumin inside the membrane along with the hard red stuff inside the thicker while membrane.
The hen (an Isa Brown that is about a year old) came to us two months ago and has laid three or four shell-less eggs in that time. We're feeding layer pellets and oyster shell. She has had a poopy rear twice in the last three weeks, and got her second bath today.
The other three birds in the flock (another Isa brown, an Ameracauna, and a BSL) all seem ok. Any thoughts for me?
