Lash eggs??

I have a chicken who has been having issues laying eggs for the past week. She'll lay soft eggs and she spends like 30 minutes at a time sitting in the hen house. Well today, I found a weird flesh looking thing inside the hen house and I read that it is a Lash Egg. I'm not totally sure if it was her that laid it because we got four eggs today and she's not acting strange or anything. What can I do to help her and is this infection contagious as I have a silkie brooding right next to where it was sitting.

Welcome to BYC. That does look like a lash egg from salpingitis, an inflammation of the oviduct. You may want to slice it open. Salpingitis is one of the common reproductive disorders, and is related to internal laying and egg yolk peritonitis. Antibiotics may not help. Here is a good link or two to read:

Did you examine it? It sounds gross but cutting it open to see what's inside can be helpful. It's texture can be telling too.

I've never seen lash egg be that pink color. It looks like chewing gum.
