We processed our last 50 cornishX this past saturday and they were raised in the barn ,and I noticed that the livers didn't look as healthy as the ones we raised on the pasture we used the same feed, they were a little more brownish looking than the others, the only thing i can think of they did not get as much sun light?

That's really interesting, Aaron. Maybe they got more grass and greens to eat on pasture also?

Let us know when you eat them if they taste different. Fried chickens livers... YUM!

They were not as big as the other ones ,the feathers looked liked the ones raised on the pasture, and the birds were smaller ,we had one dress out 7 lbs this summer but most dressed out at 5.5 to 6.5 lbs ,most of these dressed out 4 to5.5 lbs.I used the same feed local ground with fertrell suppliment .

Aaron,

Is there less pin feathers at 7.5 weeks than at 8 or later? We processed 10 tonight at 9 weeks and the pin feathers were horrible and we scalded them. We ended up skinning them.
