When I take the turner our of the incubator, what should I put in the bottom to lay the eggs on?

What do you mean "what do you put in the bottom"? What kind of incubator do you use? Most of your styros have a screen that go in the bottom. If you are looking for something to put on the existing bottom for cushion/grip I use the rubber shelf liner that you get right at the dollar stores.

I do have a styrofoam incubator and I do have a metal screen. I also have some of the rubber matting that you are talking about.
