I've recently hatched 7 out of 12 eggs, 1 was not fertile, 2 died with red blood rings... 7 hatched between day 20 and day 22. I have 2 left on day 24 and no pips.. Candled them, one is solid black, with a dark she'll tho, it's a little hard to tell... And the other only has half the egg containing something... Is this normal?? Or should I wait? Or water test? Thanks

Egg hatching, especially in incubators, can lead to problems with hatch rates. This is normal.
The two eggs that didn't hatch are probably dead, but there is always hope! Use a needle and very, very carefully pry away a piece of shell (don't stab the chick). Careful, when my Mom did this with a rotten egg it ended up exploding.
We have helped chicks that couldn't hatch, but you have to do it pretty quickly as after a day or so in the shell they usually suffocate.

I hope it all turns out well. Best of luck!

You almost always have at least a couple that don't hatch. So far I've only had one hatch that was 100% from lockdown. The two before that each had 3 that never hatched but were fully developed. Generally, a hatch will hatch out what's going to hatch in 48 hours from first hatch. My rule of thumb is 24 hours after the last hatcher, candle. If there is no sign of internal pip or obvious life/movement, to proceed with eggtopsies starting in the air cell o f the egg just in case there is undetected life.

If yours hatched day 20-22, I would bet the last couple died before then if you are past day 24.

Congrats on the hatchers and
