So our littlest duckling (I think the last one to hatch) isn't eating. When momma duck gathers all the little ones for a nap, he runs back to the food, sits down next to it and falls asleep. When he's with the others he kind of sits by himself and looks lethargic (and the others aren't picking on him). If I steal him away for a bit, I can get him to eat a wee bit. I'll crumble some on my fingers and he'll pick it off and eat a little bit of it. He seems happy to drink water. I thought if I got him interested, I could put him back with the others and he would be a bit stronger and catch up, but I've sat there for nearly an hour watching and he just won't eat with the others. I'm going to keep working with him and tuck him in at night with the family and then check on things tomorrow morning. But is it sometimes normal for the last hatchling to take awhile to catch up. I'm just not in the mood to lose one. Oh, and he has had a bit of normal poop, so he is eating a bit and seems to have a working digestive system.
