Hi - We have 3 lavender araucana who are 7 weeks old. Can anyone assist in sexing them please? Thanks in advance, Helen and Paul :-D

I'm leaning towards pullet, and thats a EE unless she's from an Ameraucana breeder , Araucanas are rumpless
Actually, it would depend on where the OP is from. UK has much different standards for Araucanas and US Araucanas can have tails but they wouldn't be showable. Many breeders keep non tufted, tailed Araucanas for their breeding programs to help reduce the number of losses due to fertility and other issues associated with rumpless, tufted birds.

those are all ee's: they don't have the ear tufts and they have crest, the last one appears to have a single comb in that pic as well plus the tails which is unlikely to happen in all 3 chicks like that...the first looks like a cockerel based off of comb color and the other 2 look like pullets for now

~ also Araucana do sometimes pop up in the breed and i have read on several different post that breeders will use a tailed Araucana.

Am sorry to be dim, but we're novices..... what is an EE please? We bought them as bluey/green Lavender Araucana eggs and hatched them under our broody.

a ee is an easter egger and it's a mixed breed that carries/possesses the blue egg gene. if the eggs had a hint of green then they came from ee's as well

An EE is an Easter Egger - a term used to describe birds that do not fit the standards for either Ameraucanas or Araucanas but carry the blue egg gene. They are typically green legged, pea combed, and bearded/muffed, come in a variety of colors, and lay eggs in a wide range of colors from white to brown to pink to blue to green and everywhere in between. Helen3105, where are you located?
