Lavender Cochin Bantam? Acceptable?

Question....

The American standard book I have does not have lavender Cochin bantams in it. Does this mean it's not acceptable?

In my 2010 edition it doesn't list them, so no, I would not show a bird/variety not in the standard ^^

If they are in the standard they would be called "Self Blue," not Lavender.

Yes thanks. I found that out today. But apparently they are not excepted.

So I did not buy them. I wanted to they were so cute.

The Self Blues are considered "non-standard" by Cochins International, but can still be shown. They can't compete outside of their variety, or for Best of Class or Best of Breed, but if you are just showing for the experience and fun of competition then a set of really nice Self Blues may be worth looking at.

Thanks I decided against it and went with silver laced. My nine-year-old got them for her birthday yesterday!
