Not sure if this is the right placement of this post but....

I have read a few threads now where people had mentioned lavender colored eggs, is this true? does anyone have any pics? Never heard of that before. Would they be from a ameraucanas maybe from the breeding of a blue egg layer with a light "pink" one? If not is there a breed that does this specifically?

Update Is anyone trying to develop some?

I've seen some called "lavender" but I wouldn't call them that.

I have a RIR who lays eggs sort of the color they sometimes refer to.... I'm hoping I can cross her eventually with my Blue Ameraucana... will be interesting to see what egg a daughter from that cross would give.

This is where one would joke about crossing blue laying lines with pink laying lines LOL I want to see this link too... I did a search and only found threads about lavender spotted eggs...

I just got my first lavender colored egg today. I am guessing that it came from one of my Americana hens, but since they started alying this summer, I have only gotten blue and green eggs from them till today. Sure wish I knew which one it was.
