Lavender orpingtons- 8 weeks old, what gender?

They are 8 weeks old. I would think I have one boy and one girl, but they are both the same size and it looks like they have the same leg thickness and coloring.

LO 1- girl?

LO 2- suspected boy

I would guess a pullet and a cockerel as well.

Based on the size of #2's developing comb and wattles compared to those of #1, I concur, #1 is a pullet, #2 is a cockerel. They are both handsome birds.

Thank you everyone! That's what I'm hoping. I'm usually pretty good at telling genders but I think the dark comb was throwing me off on these guys.

In lavender Orpingtons occasionally a female may have a larger pink comb at a young age. Males will generally become bright red between 8-10 weeks generally, and females will remain pink.

No. That just happens sometimes with lavender and blue birds.
