In Chickens Lavender is an Autosomal Recessive mutation and Chocolate is a sex linked recessive mutation

I did see that! The lady said she's very particular about who she sell them to. Since I had intentions of breeding, she didn't want to sell them to me, which is understandable.

I bought hatching eggs from them in the past, they did not seem to have this stipulation then.

Unfortunately only one lavender hatched and it died shortly after. The eggs were beat up quite a bit by the post office.
