LAYER feed at 8 weeks ????

the feed store screwed up...... is it harmful to feed 8 week olds layer pellets ?????? I did ask for ALL PURPOSE .........whats the dif ??

The layer feed has too much calcium for 8 week olds.
The same thing happened to me, just saving it for 8 more weeks.

I would go back and get the feed you have been useing. Chick starter/grower...or whatever it was you have been useing. The layer feed as stated by Ed, has too much calcium...and can hurt the babies. A day or 2 wont hurt them, but try to get thier regular feed as soon as possible.

The layer feed can cause kidney damage and shouldn't be given until 16 weeks at the earliest.
