Layer feed with 7 week old chicks

I ran out of chick feed and have some layer feed for my adult hens. My question is it it ok to let the chicks have the layer feed a couple days until I can get the all flock feed. I just moved the chicks into the coop area. I plan to to switch over to the idea of all flock feed with a side of oyster shell for the adults.

Yes, absolutely fine.

Short term it will be fine, just make the change as soon as you can. It is much easier to feed everyone the same thing, with the separate oyster shells!

Your change in feeding plan will serve the flock and you well.
Two or three days on layer feed isn't going to hurt the chicks. If it's in pellet form, break it up into smaller pieces if they need that.
