My first two Muscovy ducks started at 4mths...

good layers normally start around 6 months, but my Cayuga started at 8 months.

my mallards and cayuga are hatchery stock while i am trying to get some better cayuga stock form breeders...also my cayuga are crested and i was wondering if the crested gene was dom or receive (i know of my laying topic). still waiting to see what gender my ducks are lol no ones really showing any drake signs yet

Somewhere between 4-8 months, except that if they are late spring ducklings, it is often winter about the time they would lay, so they stop for the winter and you won't see eggs until spring.
