Laying habits of silkies

Just wondering how to get a silkie hen to lay in a certain spot in her house... I made a little nest box up off the floor but not as high as the roost, can I move her eggs from where she lays them to the nest box or will she not want to sit on them?

You can give it a try. Then if she refuses to go broody there just move them back to her 'chosen' spot'. Make sure that the nest you have created is not too high for her to enter.
